Question by Jessica P: How do I replace a laptop key and clean underneath all the keys?
I have a compaq laptop, its not very old, maybe a year or two now, and recently, there was incident where someone spilled soda on my laptop, I managed to save it by turning it upside down so nothing ran into the internal parts of the pc, however; in doing so, I pretty much promised myself sticky and annoying keys for all of eternity. Also, in the process, a key that was broken, managed to break again, so I really need to find out how I can replace the question mark key on my laptop, its a vital one. I tried q-tips and air can cleaning methods, and I believe it made matters worse. PLEASE, if anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it!

You’ll need a phillips head screw driver, warm, soapy water, a fan and some patience. You’ll have to disassemble your laptop, but not too much. From there, you’ll be able to take out your keyboard, submerge it in warm soapy water and then let it sit in front of a fan to dry for about a day. Then you can reassemble it. If you’re uncomfortable doing this without instructions, you can look up how-to’s online. this isn’t a very difficult task. Just pay attention to what you’re doing. If you have any questions, you can email me.
